Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy has attracted fierce criticism after appearing to associate the word monkey with a racist term for a black person.
Speaking on a television show on Thursday evening, Sarkozy was criticizing elites who are like monkeys that listen to no one, when he suddenly stopped.
I dont know anymore, are we allowed to say monkey?, he asked, adding: Because
were no longer allowed to say
What do we say? Ten Little Soldiers now? Is that it? Yeah
Society is really progressing.
Maybe were allowed to say monkey without insulting anyone.
Sarkozy was referring to Agatha Christies famous novel And Then There Were None, which originally had a different title that contained the racially-charged word but was changed decades ago in Britain.

Are the people he is criticizing white? Then it’s OK. It’s fashionable today to criticize whites and their “privilege”.

Sarkozy was criticizing elites who are like monkeys that listen to no one, Criticizing the elites -- the Overlords who now rule over us all -- is not OK. Has Jay-Z spoken out? Obama? Perhaps they weren't listening when Sarkozy said this. I tell ya, those guys listen to no one.

A totally unfair insult to monkeys. No wonder they get mad and chew off peoples’ faces.

The people who automatically attribute the word monkey with black people are the real racist. The guy wasn't singling out any person or race, he was describing scumbags like Nasty Peelousi and A-dumb Schitt.

Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand the guy (mostly), but I doubt there were ANY blacks to begin with on the receiving end of his words - so what the hell is the big deal here?
