Somehow and with God’s help, we can get through disasters. I lost ALL my possessions twice, each time divorced (no support) and two little children. Of course that is minimal compared to what has happened to you and so many in SW Oregon. I’m in Illinois Valley.

Sorry about your voice. If you can breathe in steam that helps the lungs tremendously. Bowl, boiling water, table, breathe it in, towel on head if desired. We’re doing it a lot because of the horrible smoke in Illionois valley.

I don’t see how. It’s unbelievable how broken and unconscious the entire system is. And it’s going to get worse. Oregon is LOST. My insurance charged me $364 for a copay to get copd meds replaced, said yesterday they were sending...today... NOPE! It’s a duplicate! NO $#IT! It burned you dimwits. But they won’t reverse the charge, have to wait til it’s regular shippment..couple of months.
Red cross... sends ya to Fema... fema won’t answer, United way, NOTHING...the county, sends you to 211...send to Red cross. Red cross has set up NO HELP, available next week they think......

Years ago I was involved as a volunteer with the non-profit world... One day the head of the YWCA took me aside and said, 'it's time you learned the dirty secret'... I mumbled something about not wanting to know - and she said 'sit down'.
She told me everyone had to keep their numbers up to qualify for United Way money and other grants ect - and that the only way to do it was to 'pass people needing service around' to other non-profits. That way we all could keep our numbers up. Then she told me the actual number of people needing 'help' in our city. It was in the low thousands - two or three thousand people... passed around for months and months... So few the 'giving community' could have bought them all a house and a car with what we were collecting...
