it’s not that difficult to turn off updates on W10 ... there’s a few services that need to be disabled as well as a few tasks ...
as far as the driver issue is concerned, try uninstalling the radeon driver from “Device Drivers” in Control Panel (but don’t delete the driver files themselves) and then immediately install the new driver software ...
As I said, You cannot turn off the updates permanently unless you are on a pro or business version of windows 10.
Believe Me, I went around and around on this subject a few years ago and nothing has changed.
Microsoft gives you a number of chances to roll back to your previous version but after that .. You Will be forced into the update.
To install a new software driver of AMD, they clean out all of the old software before the new install.
Heck, after Microsoft has updated and screwed up my graphics, I went and looked.
In the driver section I could find NO version of Any driver and what’s more .. in the driver properties area it said: “This device has been disabled because of conflicts”
This is their own doing!
It's not difficult, because it can't be done with the Home version.
