Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Thursday ripped the latest White House threat to cut federal funding for Democratic-run big cities, calling it “nonsense” meant to shore up Republican President Donald Trump’s political support in an election year while promising to sue his administration if it pursues the city’s money.
“If the president and his team are foolish enough to think they can unilaterally cut off our funding because we are not bending to his will, as if he is an emperor and not a president who is responsible to the people, once again we will see him in court and we will win,” Lightfoot said. “When we win, we will make him pay for what his foolishness has brought to the city of Chicago.”
Earlier, on social media, Lightfoot said that if Trump “wanted ‘law and order,’ he’d start with the White House.”
“1,000 people die daily from his failure on the pandemic. Instead of taking ownership, he chooses to play politics with lives,” she added in a tweet.(snip)
Lightfoot’s comments Thursday marked the latest exchange between Chicago’s mayor and Trump. Lightfoot in May responded to Trump tweeting a message that included, “When the looting starts, the shooting starts” in reply to rioting in Minneapolis and elsewhere following Floyd’s death by accusing the president of destabilizing the country and using a thinly veiled profanity.
“He wants to show failures on the part of Democratic local leaders, to throw red meat to his base,” Lightfoot said at the time. “His goal is to polarize, to destabilize local government and inflame racist urges. We can absolutely not let him prevail. And I will code what I really want to say to Donald Trump. It’s two words. It begins with F and it ends with U.”

This toad is nothing more than a hypocrite, accusing others of falsehoods, while she does EXACTLY what she accuses them of. She needs to be hauled off to stand charges for the crimes she's perpetuated against Chicago as well as the rest of the country.
To me, Mayor Lightfoot always looks as though she is recovering from a hangover, still sensitive to any light, and angry that she has to talk for a living.
