Most building/home fires in a forest fire start in the edge of the roof / overhang. This is due to how the embers flow down the edge of the roof and can collect there or under the eves.
I have a buddy who protected his mountain cabin by setting a lawn sprinkler on top of his roof and just let it “water” his cabin. Yeah, several near by trees burned along with his garage, but his cabin was fine despite being completely surrounded by a forest fire. It is amazing to me how just a little bit of water can prevent something from burning down.
