Taking a respite from yard work. Needed water to rehydrate, cleat the dust out of my throat, and take a little cooldown. It’s only 87 here, not roasting by August Alabama standards, but that sun beating down on you makes it feel that way when you’re not riding the lawn tractor. Trying to get this done in the next hour or so. Looks like Marco is sending some outer bands our way and we’re gonna get a little wet. They still don’t have a firm grasp of where these two systems will eventually make landfall. What about your area, Gina?

Viking, as I said, we’re just waiting to see what they’re going to do. We’re in “the cone” with tropical storm and storm surge warnings in effect. Hurricane warnings just to the west of us. We’re about to be getting some of the outer bands here.

Yeah, we're off of I-85 NE of Auburn, right on the line. Here comes the first band. The sky's beginning to cloud over. Gotta go out and fix a couple missed patches of grass in back, then put all the lawn equipent away before it hits. You can see we're not terribly far from Mobile, Pensacola, and the Gulf itself.

Thanks. But I currently am a bit torqued at an issue that takes priority over a tropical storm. Remember a few weeks ago when I had the septic issue and the septic guys had to use a backhoe to dig up my yard and fix it? The problem is back. They're responsible for guaranteeing their services, the check cleared the bank the next day, and they're gonna make it right tomorrow, come hell or high water. Ain't no way on God's Green Earth that we went seven - seven - years before we had a problem, they couldn't even explain it (three years is the standard), and it comes back three weeks after they serviced it. I think they cracked the main, and I'm not shelling out a grand to have them fix it.

I’m not a fan of paying twice for the same service. But I’m not a fan of chamber pots, either.

So far, it’s turned into nothing here. We haven’t even gotten any rain. The bands moving toward us yesterday disappeared. We may get some rain today.

Looks like a rain shield just to the south of us (literally two counties away) is trying to rotate into the region. Making for a bit of a gloomy afternoon but it’s kept the high in the low 80’s. Can’t wait until the temps start to drop in another couple months.

Oh, yeah! I wish fall would last all year. My favorite season. We finally got a spritz of rain just now. :-/

These storms turned out to be duds, weather-wise. Personally, I'd like to be sitting about 3500 feet up on a mountain ridge, in late November or early December the rest of my life. In a log cabin. I keep threatening to do it. Seriously.
