BOSTON - A man's romantic date with a Washington state woman he met online took a shocking turn when she whipped out a high-powered pink stun gun and robbed him of over $100 at a Boston hotel, police say.
The woman, later identified as Selena Rivera-Apodaca, 24, of Kent, was arrested after the man was able to escape from her hotel room and contact authorities.
The drama unfolded Tuesday when officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Boston.
The victim told police that he met the woman through an online dating site, and that they went up to her hotel room after meeting in the lobby.
They had chatted for about a half-hour when the woman suddenly pulled out a pink Taser - a Femme Fatale model that reportedly packs 3.5 million volts - and held it to the victim while she rummaged through his pockets, according to police.
The woman allegedly stole over $100 from the man before he was able to run from the room and notify hotel security, police reports say.
Officers then went to the woman's hotel room, but she denied knowing the victim and said she had never seen him before. She then became uncooperative and began a FaceTime conversation with another man. That's when officers spotted a pink stun gun on top of the woman's luggage, police say.
Police confiscated the Taser and Rivera-Apodaca was taken into custody. She was booked into jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of armed robbery.
Fly to Boston to commit a robbery?
Flying from Washington State to Boston should cost more than $100...
He probably paid for her plain ticket and she thought she had a whale on her hands
plane not plain
when she whipped out a high-powered pink stun gun
In this day and age..she may have whipped out something far more shocking..
Now how could you not trust such an innocent face?
Is the black-and-red pattern on the pink case supposed to look like the welts it leaves on the targets skin?
Natural born ‘citizen’ Rivera-Apodaca no doubt.
So, this guy meets a “woman” on an online dating service, and sight unseen, decides to meet her at her hotel room? Doesn’t pass the smell test. It’s likely, that this “woman” was a prostitute selling her “wares” on an online dating service, and this guy was a client, who got ripped off. He’s lucky she only used a stun gun.
I say this, because I use an online service, and have met some amazing women, but rule number one, for all, is that you meet in a public place (i.e. restaurant, etc). I’ve frequently seen certain profiles which are clearly posted by prostitutes, seeking to meet for casual sex. No women post ads like this, unless they are professionals, or are intent on robbing you. Even if they aren’t pros, or robbers, why would you want to meet a woman who is so casual about sex? Nothing good is going to come from it, other than a good case of an std.
Well he got what he wanted, screwed.
Gone wrong? No, no, no, it went off exactly as planned.
That’s not a Taser.
Just an old school type ‘stun gun’.
So does this mean no second date?
Jail her, deport her. End of problem.
“GEEZE, lady, I said I needed a little ZIP in my love-life, not ZAAAP”
Got that right
No doubt. Never trust anyone with two last names. 😁
you mean like Rodham Clinton ?
Especially THAT wench.
