I think we need to be careful of a possibly overconfident analysis of Chinese weakness, or that its economy is on the ropes, because THIS IS THE PROPAGANDA THEY HAVE BEEN PUMPING FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS.
Michael Pillsbury’s fascinating book “The Hundred-Year Marathon,” details how U.S. Pentagon and CIA experts were DELIBERATELY FOOLED BY THE CHINESE since about the time of their WTO entrance, and especially their desire to get their hands on our technology.
I DO think the Chinese economy will eventually FALL—IF WE LET THEM QUIT SUCKING OUR BLOOD.
But that could take quite a while. The USSR withstood a nearly complete blockade by the West for many decades before the communist rot finally finished them off.
It’s a funny thing. I worked for a company that did process control automation for 9.5 years. Started as the Foxboro Company, then sold to Invensys and finally Schneider Electric before I left.
They automated China’s nuclear reactors. I don’t know if they still do because China got ALL the specifications and the source code for the project. I sounded the alarm. Nobody listened. That was 7 years ago.
