My town has its fair share of commies (transplants from Mass and NY). Halfway between Concord and Rochester.
Right now I barely have time to eat dinner and go to bed with this “work at home” crap. Every employer thinks ... “Work at home OK, meeting start at 7 and can be scheduled up to 8pm”. I just shut down my work PC at 9:15 ... I’d rather be driving my 1 1/2 hours to work and another 1 1/2 back just to have some home time.
My kid is 6 and going into 1st grade, I have no idea who any of her friends parents are let alone other school aged kids parents.
But ... I bet there will be some BIG grumblings going on soon ... I’m sure I’ll hear them when I go to the Dump on Sunday to bring the trash. Maybe at the Dump I can talk to some parents.
We all know the “Distance Learning” was a complete joke. My kid learned nothing for the last 4 months of Kindergarten. And the kids will get another year of BS no-learning!
I just received an email survey from my Y. They are planning to have some kind of opportunity for people to bring their children to the Y, either part-time or full-time, where they will get socialization and exercise and a Y employee to help them with their distance learning. There is camp going on at the Y this summer. If children can go to the Y and do their schoolwork there, why cant they just go to school?
Sorry to hear this and I hope things work out for the best, for all.
Isn't that what pubic school kids have been getting for decades now? Teach your kids to read and then start buying them books.
