Don't buy a supplement with Zinc Oxide, the absorption is so low (3%). On the chart, it looks like a lot (80% elemental Zinc) BUT you can't absorb much of it. It's 80% but mostly non-absorbable. Zinc-fortified cereals like Total, use Zinc Oxide. Total waste!
But don't exceed Dr. Z's recommendation, either. 50 mg is plenty. If you take more than that, it can interfere with the absorption of other important things (like Iron and Copper) and it could give you stomach aches.
Thank you for your very helpful replies...I have purchased zinc, quinine, and quercetin—but have been unsure of dosages, etc. I feel more confident now :)

I have been taking Vitamin D3 for years - 2000 IU’s a day. Just bumped this up to 5000 IU’s.
Thanks to this thread, have just ordered Quercetin/Zinc from Walmart which won’t arrive for a week from now.
I am getting this because I may be going into hospital on Monday. Long story. Want to have something before I go in....my doctor has said he would prescribe HCQ if I came down with COVID19 but the pharmacies won’t fill it...unless you have rheumatoid arthritis.
