Theaters only going down because people aren’t allowed to go.
Somewhere around here I have a list of movies to see this summer, which I compiled in the spring, pre-WuFlu. Among them, the new Ghostbusters entry which looks to be a solid effort at redeeming the franchise from the horrible grrrrl-power version.
People will go to movies as soon as they are allowed.
Kill the US movie industry, Bollywood and the Brits (and others) will be glad to provide content and will adapt quickly to American tastes.
The “Hobbit/Lord of the Rings” were from fargin’ NEW ZEALAND!!
Last year, Avengers: Endgame made well north of $1 billion in a couple days.
Pretty sure that qualifies.
Maybe you didn't like it.
Well, neither did I.
But I'll recognize truth. Including the truth that seafood is very popular, in spite of my own taste, according to which all seafood is disgusting.
Don't Go.
Still not allowed in Whitmerstan. You can bet there’s going to be mass crowds as soon as we can.
MOAB
Go big or go home.
When they are allowed to, my local multiplexes do exactly that in at least one theater per month. This year we were supposed to see, among others, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” again. Do you remember what that giant mothership looks like, 20 feet wide, instead of the blob of lights TVs make of it?

However there is some great writing and production values in a number of the new series being made these days.
A 70 inch screen and surround sound a bluray player and connection to your favorite streaming service and you have better than the movies! All for less than 1000 dollars.
“The conservative answer for you:
Don’t Go.”

Truer words were never spoken. I’m with you. Starve them out.
If that’s what you want to do.
I’m with those wanting to go.
Release them to video download....Movie theaters, Covid petri dishes, are so 2019.
“I want to see the movie where an AC-130 gunship wipes out an entire Antifa mob.”
*Jumps up and waves her hand frantically*
“Me too! Me too!”
!
That sounds like a lot of fun. As you said, really delightful.
I wish they had those sorts of theatres in Canada. Plus drive-in cinemas too.
Some of my favorite movies are:
“Wings of Desire” Berlin circa 1987.Really worth a watch.
“Money Python and The Holy Grail” One of the funniest movies EVER made.Except if you have no sense of humor, of course.
“Who’s afraid of Virginia Wolf” with Liz Taylor and Richard Burton.
“The Shining” Jack Nicolsen. Shelly Duval puts on one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.
And let’s not forget “The Truman Show”
“Im with those wanting to go.”
Perhaps I spoke too hastily. It really is fun to go to the theatre and watch the trailers, with a huge cup of soda and bag of popcorn in your hands.
I remember I brought my daughter and her friend to the first “Twilight” movie. It was so full we had to sit in the first row.
I couldn’t really see; I laid my head back and actually fell asleep. LOL! I probably even snored; my daughter must have been extremely embarrassed. ;)
