Or don’t carry if you have to be in DC.

I have wondered too if police know that you have a permit if when they pull you over.

The case the NRA lawyer was talking about didn’t involve carrying. Some guy was a hunter. And he was gong on a hunting trip. But first he had to stop in DC on business. He was careful. He researched all the DC rules for how to legally transport a rifle. He followed each rule.

Then he was stopped by a DC cop for a traffic infraction. The cop asked for permission to search the car. The guy said yes (dumb move). The cop found the legally stored rifle. Off to the DC jail the guy went.

Yes. they do.

They have an app for that. ;(

Most states have a magical thing called a “database” that stores this information. Most police departments nowadays have the means to poll this data from the road to find out if you have a permit.
