I guarantee it, shit has hit the fan!

The parent company of Men’s Warehouse announced a round of layoffs and hundreds of looming store closures Tuesday, as its business suffers a blow from the coronavirus pandemic.

Tailored Brands said it is eliminating roughly 20% of its corporate workforce by the end of its fiscal second quarter. It also said it has selected up to 500 of its stores that it could potentially close “over time.” It did not disclose a list of those exact locations.

It also announced that its current CFO, Jack Calandra, will depart the company on July 31. In the near term, it said Calandra’s responsibilities will be divided between its CEO and Holly Etlin, a managing director at AlixPartners who has been appointed to a new chief restructuring role for Tailored Brands.

I’ve been working from home since April 1. All my dress shirts and pants have been under plastic ever since. I’m sure going through jammie bottoms, though...

The company went south after they fired the founder of Men’s Warehouse George Zimmer.

Once Zimmer was edged out....whichever idiot thought that they knew the business and how to deliver....screwed up badly. There is a market out there for men’s clothing (stuff beyond what Wal-Mart would sell), and it needs to be a professional guy at the top...not some pretender.

I used to shop once a year (3 hours) and spend around $1k in a Men’s Warehouse to freshen up my wardrobe.

Men aren't wearing suits and ties to do zoom meetings. Next will be the coming crash of corporate real estate in industries that can easily adapt to work form home.

Car sales will decline as people drive less, other than their close to home vacations as they avoid planes and cruises.

There will be an elite group of students, maybe 15% who will adapt to home schooling and new opportunities to learn online and they will take advantage of the superior education to what the lazy unions put out and we will have a huge separation in education. Hopefully there will also be a Renaissance in learning for the trades to provide new opportunities and we can also hope many liberal universities go broke.

No one at CNBC can even spell a name correctly anymore. FReepers aren't far behind. The chain's actual name is/was Men's WEARHOUSE. A play on the word "Warehouse" for a clothing store. Pretty clever idea.

The few items I ever purchased there were terrible in terms of fit and durability.

I have been “over dressing” for work for decades. There is no need for me to wear a dress shirt and tie, but I do. In February, I went to Men’s Warehouse and bought 6 new shirts, a suit, nice shoes, and some ties.

I have not worn any of what I bought. We shut down about a week after I made the purchases. I work from home now. No videoconferencing. I may never get back into the office. I have clearly spent my last penny at Men’s Warehouse. Nothing against them, but times are different now and their core business seems to be mostly gone.

I want to find a way to invest in Styrofoam packaging for all the take out. If only the liberals cared that it all ends up in a landfill or the belly of a whale.

I won a gift card to a local one, and couldn’t find anything I liked.

I’m a very casual dresser, though.

I have a few bespoke suits (Brooks Bros.) that just sit in the closet except for rare occasions such as weddings, funerals, museum fundraisers - and a tux for night at the opera or tonier museum fundraisers/openings. (all coronacancelled)

Church is a blue blazer and no tie and that's overdressed compared to the rest of the parishoners. (also coronacancelled)

Business is me in athleticwear talking via facetime to my financial advisor and or lawyer, or doing contract work via skype.

With ZOOM Meetings, they might sell a lot of Shirts and Ties, but they don’t sell Pants.
