“You have to understand that in N.Y. there were thousands of people in nursing homes under medicade.”
Oh; I totally get it. I’m from NY and Mom (low income and 96 y.o.) still lives there. We watch her like a hawk, and shoo away any government agency that wants to come in and “help” or “assess” her. Thank Heaven my brother and his angel wife live with her now and take care of her. The state cares nothing about the people.
Once I stopped in to the Office Of The Aging in her county and said that if the NY taxes were lower, adult children could afford to move back and take care of their parents so the State wouldn’t have to.
The naive but honest receptionist said, “Oh, we’re not here to take care of people. We’re here to make jobs for us.” I think it might’ve been her first — and probably last — day on the job. I heard she never came back. That’ll teach a government employee to be honest! LOL!
Were here to make jobs for us
This is true for about 85 percent of gubmint workers MayFlower.
I’ll pray for you Mom.
