I use a 3-iron all the time, but then I also am a terrible golfer...lol
Many moons ago I was almost good - a single digit handicap and *just so close* to scratch that I almost lost sight of the joy in the game.
Then I began teaching my two daughters the game with an emphasis on the honor side of it and never ever giving up. I’ve never enjoyed the game as much as when I was playing with my girls.

Many years ago, well before Tiger, golfers were hitting 3 woods or 2 irons into greens, we need a few holes like that, perhaps a par 4 550 year hole :)

Yeah, instead of discussing the substance of the issue, go ahead and name call like libs. A Whole.
My FIL worked for Faultless Golf. At the time, Trevino was endorsing that brand. He would come into town once in a while to visit the plant, and more often than not take some plant workers to a nearby podunk saloon for drinks. The party would go on for quite a while. My FIL said they didn’t call Trevino “The Happy Mex” for nothing.
That was funny!
