Honestly? Why play the National Anthem at any sporting activity - professional sports are a business, not a national patriotic entity.
Since the players and the owners have gone crazy on us, let's withdraw the privilege of displaying our flag or playing the National Anthem.

Since the players and the owners have gone crazy on us, let's withdraw the privilege of displaying our flag or playing the National Anthem. I agree. It simply gives them an opportunity to disrespect our flag, and our country as well as giving them a forum to air their perceived grievances such as being an "oppressed" multi-millionaire who gets a massive paycheck to play a game.
Either refrain from playing the National Anthem, or simply play it while the players are in the locker room before they take the field.
