Positive covid test rate red v blue state.
John Hopkins data ^ | 11 July 2020 | vanity

Sorry for the vanity, but I want help from the hive. If you follow the link and click through the individual states something very impossibly odd stands out. Most all red states have positive test results for Covid around 20%. SC today reported 22.2%! Almost 1 in 4 test positive?! Contrast that to blue states like NY, NJ, MI, CT etc which are all reporting around a 2% positive rate. My conspiracy suspicious mind wonders if the tests in red states are "juiced" to show positive?

The only “juice” I see is increased contact tracing.
Contact tracing yields a much higher positivity rate because it is more efficient.

Otherwise, there is more food production/processing in “red” states, that industry seems to be particularly susceptible to transmission.

Fake tests

Know several people who waited so long they left without being tested.

They still received a positive from the lab from their paperwork submitted, although they left

I don’t trust blue states to competently distinguish sexual genders let alone whether a person actually has a flu or not.

NY,NJ,CT,MI had their outbreak in March/April—no “curve flattening”. Other states flattened their curve. Flattening the curve was to delay or slow the outbreak to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed. It was not designed to eliminate the disease. What you are now seeing is the delay in the states that “flattened the curve”

NY had positive testing rates as high as 50% in the midst of their outbreak in early April. They have been as low as single digits in the last month or two, hovering around 10%

Case numbers may be ‘juiced’ a bit (how they are counted, increased testing etc), but the increase is real here in So Cal. Some early indicators suggest we may be close to a peak, but will have to wait and see.

I just would like to know what other virus has so many people get it and be asymptomatic? 88% asymptomatic?

With any virus you have people who show really deadly symptoms and people with mild symptoms BUT very few people who have it and have NO symptoms.

It just does not happen.

So either the tests are wrong, as in they are looking at the wrong markers or they were precontaminated or this is the strangest virus ever.

I don’t find it’s low sympromiticity odd or unnatural.
A virus would naturally tend towards that- as it’s intent is not to harm the host but to grow.

What I find unnatural is it’s severe side effects.
That’s not good for the virus to kill it’s hosts!

Well, for SC in my county they said our hospital is about to be at capacity, the numbers here are skyrocketing.

Just got a report from my nurse aunt and her doctor husband.

They are in rural area far removed from any serious metro area.

Again, they see this as minor in their area, not worth the whole floor of their hospital that was set aside for it, and say that indeed some may be reported as COVID when they are not. To get money. She asked why no reports on flu hospitalization and deaths seem to be occurring. TheySHOULD be happening but by the numbers they get to see, there is no flu. About impossible. So they think some flus are being reported as COVID.

Sometimes you want to run:

Few may have noticed that 42 percent of all COVID deaths in the US come from just three states—New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts. These three states account for nearly 56,000 of the nearly 133,000 deaths in the US, even though they represent just 10 percent of the population.
Why have New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts suffered so much more than other US states?

Sometimes you want to stay:
Contrast that to blue states like NY, NJ, MI, CT etc which are all reporting around a 2% positive rate

But for red states it’s all run run run
Most all red states have positive test results for Covid around 20%. SC today reported 22.2%! Almost 1 in 4 test positive?!

Some red state test centers are reporting that most of their test requests are coming from workers at businesses that won’t let them return to work because they show signs of the virus, such as coughing, sneezing, elevated temperature, etc. These are most often mild cases where the person would otherwise ignore the signs.

This is can happen only in states that are going back to work, i.e. RED states.
