Reddit: Will no longer allow any content showing people of color as aggressors

Early 2000s there was a book, “Coloring the News”, that pointed out the trend. I think it was by couple of CBS News guys.

One example was not showing looting on St. Thomas after a major hurricane, because all the looters were black.

IIRC, St. Thomas is ~94% black...

I joined reddit a couple of years ago. Lots of fun sites and information...yet also many many “news” sites that all slant left, of course don’t they all. I’ve posted comments regarding some left “news” and was brutalized beyond measure. None of these people want or except another opinion, most take their news from CNN and accept it as fact. It’s a very scary place to be, quit reddit a month ago and never felt better.

They are a private company. They are also populated by children.

They can do what they want. Someone will provide an alternative, and they will be successful.

The only dumb and/or mean people allowed on TV commercials are white guys. I noticed that trend decades ago. We have moved far beyond that now.

In grade school science I learned that white is comprised of all colors. Black is tha absence of color.

I'm still a newbie but I do have the sense that Reddit as a whole is heavily oriented towards young people, many of whom don't have a clue, and that it leans heavily left on political and cultural questions. You do have to search out the subreddits that work for you. Most of them are non-political. Happy hunting.

Of course, you can drop in on the left leaning subreddits as well and have a bit of fun. I'm not a troll, but I do enjoy dropping an occasional factoid or observation that contradicts the dominant narrative. I'm not intimidated by a wave of downvotes from people who are unable to voice a coherent response.

That's not inaccurate, but it totally depends on the color model you're using.

In an additive model, such as RGB, which your computer monitor uses, black is the absence of color, and white is all colors.

In a subtractive color model, such as CMYK (what color printing uses), white is the absence of all color, and black is all colors.
