I wouldn’t call myself “Q people” nor a mocker, but I’ve read the ‘drops’ as well as some of the silly and serious stuff posted by others to interpret or explain.
I’ve always read them as claiming to be a group inside the intel community, presumably a very well informed group, effectively at war with other parts that are anti-US. If one asserts a Deep State, it isn’t a movie villain which crumbles at a superhero blast or reveals its plan to Bond, but a dangerous and far-reaching thing.
It seems reasonable, therefore, that if there’s a Q team they don’t win 100% like a movie hero. One could also say that if the Q team is as professional as they claim they shouldn’t have made some of the claims they did. Might be!
All I can say is some of the spooky stuff affirms things I’ve deduced over the years, so I find them informative and the call to preparedness timely. IMO “Q follower” seems to imply following directions which makes no sense to me as “Q” isn’t giving orders...

I think your explanation is not likely the correct one.
IMO Q was likely started by covert anti-Trumpers from within the early WH. Likely candidates include those at least influenced by Bannon and from among his other ex-Navy intel pals such as Jack Posobiec, the Mooch, or the like. Posobiec had already been involved in nefarious activities such as reportedly carrying a “Rape Melania” sign at a protest, and pushing the Pizzagate narrative that appears to have been introduced to try to discredit the legit pedophile/blackmail ring around Epstein.
Were any Flynns involved in it at any time? Possibly. But it sure seems like a classic psyop operated by more than one voice/main person over the past couple of years.
There was that brief time when Scott Adams, the day after he met Trump at the WH, and a couple of others from his orbit tried hard to tamp it down. And there have been times when some apparently from at least the Don Jr and now Eric Trump camps have encouraged it, first privately and then more publicly.
My best guess is that it has passed in and out of the hands of friends and covert foes. Dan Scavino could well have been among those duped by the insider underminers, as well as part of the effort to make it work at points since.
But it is a classic psyop. It has made Trump supporters docile while supposed exposure of previous crimes has been pushed ever further off and ever Deeper State players (e.g., Barr after Sessions) have been put in places of power. The clock is just about run out and we are now being told to just wait until August. August 2020, after which no indictments can be offered for politically linked players until after the election, when the Deep State fully intends Trump not to be in office.
The degree to which Jared and Ivanka have been influenced by Mossad and possibly covert Chinese spy players should not be underestimated. Nor the degree of dirt they likely have on Jared, at least, to hold over Trump’s head.
Look also to how Trump has let Pence, Fauci, Birx, etc., run the pandemic hoax out of the WH (with Kushner reportedly as the real shadow head of it). How Trump is lining up the military for the presumably forced universal vaccination with Gates’s evil mRNA “vaccine”.
Look to how “only Nixon” could open up China, how the same bankers secretly planning and launching the Federal Reserve 100 years ago made such a public point to pretend that the were totally against it—in order to get it passed. The documentation of how the “uniparty” is not supposed to offer any real choice, only the illusion of choice, and how much massive initiatives such as universal electronic ID tattooing, for both financial and vaccine/health control, were planned in advance for 2020—and there is a good chance that this whole global takedown of the US was planned well in advance, with the Trump presidency as a feature rather than a bug in its execution.
