it wasn’t his fault...maybe he was going too fast...but he manuvered his car around the blocking van and the people on the side of the road....he could not have seen people hiding behind the van, which was illegally parked there...

The governor and the mayor OWN THIS...lock, stock and barrel. That womans blood is on THEIR HANDS...no one elses.
Words mean things. Governor did not mention it was not a good idea to riot in the street and shut down an interstate highway. Article did not mention if the rioters shut down the interstate.

Block my vehicle and see what happens. You will be injured or killed - it’s better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

police were given a thankless task of protecting reckless behavior of protestors at the expense of normal driving public involved in everyday activity on a public thoroughfare.
i am not a lawyer, but it is my impression that enforcing the law on an interstate freeway is the responsibility of the local state, which in this case is the state of washington. at least under normal circumstances, the public has a reasonable right to presume that the state laws are being enforced on interstate freeways, and normally, interlopers have a reasonable right to presume that they will be arrested on interstate freeways. in this case, it seems imho that the public trust has been violated by the state of washington. washington state tried and failed to shut down the freeway on behalf of the illegal protest, a fool’s errand to begin with.

The blame should be put on the Washington Hwy Patrol for allowing the freeway to be closed by protesters. Washington has lost its values.

People need to wake up and smell the maliciousness. The interstate highway shutdowns are all about interrupting interstate commerce. Its not a protest. It was never a protest. We cant really start fighting back against these scumbags until we learn to see beyond the idiot slogans they use to sell their depravity to idiots.
Shutting down an interstate at 1:40 am is not a protest. It is an unlawful riot. Unfortunately, there are people who want their own people hurt or killed so they can escalate their cause.

She put herself on the interstate.

I don't think Somalians and Ethiopians get along too well.
Or maybe it's Kenyans and Somalians -- either way, the common denominator is Somalians.

Pedestrians have no right to be on the freeway and the police need to arrest and remove them.
Automobile in the right.

It must be a federal crime to shut down an interstate highway. ............. It is. It is used to move interstate commerce on and in times of armed conflict the US Military has total control of the entire intestate highway system. The feebs could be called in to stop this situation by the DoJ since the highways are used for Interstate Commerce of which falls well within federal jurisdiction wheelhouse. Learned this in grade school back in the 60's in political science class if I recall correctly.

I may be mistaken, but to the best of my knowledge, “protesters” do NOT have the power nor the authority to close down ANY taxpayer funded public thoroughfare at any time, day or night.
