The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, youll be solving them all within a few days. If youre stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hals Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please dont put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Easy one today. Everyone should knock this off in two minutes.
Great little quote. Reminds me of the Japanese people who were mocking the subway bombers a few years ago, and the British who went to work while being bombed each night. You might say its how many of us feel about these Antifa thugs.
Ok, now what does it mean?

Found this kinda tricky...
Like trying to catch a gnat with a baseball glove.
Played with it enough and it fell in place...oh well..
I guessed the first two words, it was downhill from there, so to speak
Good one!!!!!
I.e. it was up hill?
Remember the Carter/Iran crap and all they showed us was the ‘mobs’ yelling at the embassy and every now and then someone would try to scale the wall and finally they did the deed...
Later on though, when reporters were ‘allowed’ to go downtown, it was business as usual....
As to todays BullSchiff, my ‘little town’ has had a few ‘demonstrations’ but nary a problem... I think they were forewarned about the limits and small enough that REAL STRANGERS stand out... guess the main key is to quickly ID the 1 or 2% that may be agitators, that is all it takes.
On the 1st one they had someone from ‘our side’ showed up packing and was yelling but a couple quickly ‘calmed him down’ and am sure if any ‘trouble’ it would have been squelched quickly.
MY main two questions were....
There are five churches within easy walking distance from the courthouse...I was wondering what the TOWN’s reaction would have been if ONE of them had ‘blocked’ public access and held services...(I think I know that one)
The other
What if the dissident at the ‘gathering’ had been in favor of the speaker would anyone have intervened AND if he/she/it had ‘tossed something’ would the sparse crowd (about 250) have ‘pounced on them as they did the anti gathering person...
(I think with the makeup of the original crowd that NO once could have become disruptive without consequences...)
Same approach.
Summarized in post 14. :)
Something to do with the absurdity of life, from what I can tell.
I look at it this way. You break up with your girl friend, and you act like you don’t give shyte about it.
Now, when are you going to give me your 'huh?' comment about my hint? :)
Possibly. It is kind of ironic that solving the cryptogram only reveals a completely cryptic message.
Huh?
