Simple SOLUTION: Still maintain presence on Twitter. Ive been noticing an anti-Parler JIHAD going on.
It is indeed better for us to remain present on Twitter and Facebook in order to push back against the hordes.
That said, Microsoft and other companies routinely change their TOS without notice to the users. I think that’s scummy but that’s normal operating procedure. That said I haven’t clicked the link yet since my normal practice on FR is just to read the headlines and then get upset or joyful depending on that alone.
I was just about to getting active on parler and now I think I will wait and see what happens. I doubt that this really is some lib tactic to damage us, but I wouldn’t put it pas them.
Probably few are abandoning the bloated forums until they are personally banned outright. I'm reminded of some great advice given immediately after the 1994 election:
"Abandon all illusions of media sympathy," and "find, forge and maintain your own lines of communication."
I got to the point in the T&C section where they tell you about their pixel tags.
I have given up on Parler. It’s a very cumbersome interface. It blocks password saving by FireFox so that I have to generate a reset password every time. Not only is there a capture to authenticate they insist on sending a # by SMS, every time.
I don’t use a SMS capable phone so I need to send to a friend & have them call me.
Once I get in, even though I am following 20+ people, all I see is the last 20 things Loomer posted. I followed people on Parlor that are prolific on twitter like Bongino and nothing comes up in the feed. I’d have to look up the people I follow, 1 x 1.
DOJ should just lower the boom on twitter and take away their immunity if the put a hand on the scale. If not Parlor is not a decent alternative.
Waste of time.
Conservatives need to stop retreating, we are running out of places to retreat to.
Started reading the user agreement on Parler and decided against joining. Still on FB. In any case no one should be deluded into thinking anonymity and speech without consequence are ideals that can be objectively attained. Speak the truth wherever you are and whoever you are. There will always be people who cannot handle it.
Other then FreeRepublic I do not feel compelled to share my wisdom with the world. That is what my two dachshunds are for and even they usually ignore me.
If Parler proves to be useful then it will be bought up by FB or Google or even MSFT and strangled.

@DoppelMark
Whether joining Parler of not, stay at Twitter, if for no other reason than to flag abusive posts by liberals. Set yourself a target of X number of abuse reports for violence, fake news, personal attacks, etc. per day (you’ll soon find your only problem is deciding what NOT to flag). Do not go quiet into that good night...
those up set at parlors term of services should look at twitter....almost any term of service on the internet reads just as bad for those using the service and a lot of the terms of service are not supported by state laws because each state is difrent on what can be enforced in a contract and the terms are the same for everyone even in states where those terms would be thrown out by the court.
You don’t have to do any of that if you don’t want to be verified. I just joined a few days ago, and none of that is mandatory.
