Lady A is a blues singer. It’s not a good look for some white country folks to change their name to avoid connections to the south and racism by ignorantly taking the name of a black professional blues singer. I had heard their name but didn’t even know it was a group much less that they were country. They should’ve kept the name instead of trying to play the woke game.

They were a huge country music cash cow back in the late 90s and early 2000s... popped off against the war on terror and Bush and fans basically wouldn’t give them the time of day.

They have been off/on over the last few years. Doing overseas tours
etc. They did a tour in 2015 with over forty shows. Their first in 20
years. In 2018 they got new management, got back in studio, etc.
Recently on June 25, 2020 the band changed their name to the Chicks
because of this Dixie controversy.
