GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) Greenville City Council voted unanimously to require masks for employees and customers of some businesses within city limits.
The emergency ordinance requires all customers to wear masks or face coverings inside grocery stores and pharmacies.
Employees of restaurants, retail stores, salons, barber shops, grocery stores, and pharmacies will also be required to wear a face covering.
The ordinance will go into effect beginning Tuesday at noon. The ordinance will last for 60 days unless it is canceled earlier.
If someone fails to comply with the ordinance they could face a $25 fine. Employee who dont wear masks could face a fine of up to $100, according to the ordinance.
Anyone who is unable to safely wear a mask or is unable to remove a mask without assistance is exempt from the ordinance.
The ordinance passed with a vote of 7-0.

Hate to say it, Greenville proper is no longer the Greenville of Bob Jones. Yuppy heaven, giving Asheville NC a run for their their money in being progressive.

We were hoping to possibly retire to the Greenville area one day and get out of the hurricane target of the Lowcountry. After reading this, it sounds like we might as well go to Asheville and be done with it.
