Central TX, about 1/2 way between Austin and Houston. Famous as the birthplace of my mother — well, maybe not so much. Area is heavily German (19th Century immigrants).
Our family reunions were held in Giddings for many years. My mother was born in the nearby community of Hills. The family farm was outside of Paige.
