He told me a couple of stories that made me smile and it proved things are not as bad as you might think.
The first two are quick. He was stopping for a cup of coffee and a couple in front of him wanted to buy his coffee. He explained that is not legal for him to accept--but he thanked them. The African American couple turned to him and told him they appreciated what he was doing every day. They told him that most people in his community appreciated it.
Later that morning he was at a stop light and a car with a hispanic family pulled up beside him. They yelled over for him to roll down his window. When he did, the guy yelled over, "We just wanted to tell you we think you are doing a great job. We don't care about the bullshit the media is spreading."
Finally, he noticed a car with an expired registration. He turned on the lights but the car did not pull over. This went on for a block or two. Finally, he pulled into a driveway. My SIL got out of the car and had the driver get out.
Expired license, expired registration...it was time to search the car. So he put the kid (19 years old) in cuffs and started searching the car. In the mean time the kids mother came out. She was a normal looking middle aged black woman. She ask my SIL what was going on. He explained.
The mom got pissed.
The mother walked over to her son, slapped him in the face and started chewing his ass out, up one side and down. The kid would try to answer, she would yell at him some more. For about ten minutes she just railed on her kid about being stupid.
Nothing was found in the car. The kid was written up, and he was about to get released. My SIL turned to mother to make sure she wasn't going to hurt him if he uncuffed the kid.
As he drove away the mother was still screaming at the kids as she shooed him into the house.
So, you see the world is not all terrible out there. People appreciate the police. And mom's still slap their kids for being stupid.
Forget to tag as vanity...could you put that in the title?
Didnt know there were any cities in western NE, let one dangerous ones.
;>)
Thank you! Made me laugh.
did the trooper have a sex change during this story...
color me confused.
Son-in-law=SIL
There are still a whole lot more good folks in this country than bad. The lying media, sold out to the globalist-leftists just do not want to show you that side because it does not fit their evil narrative.
So, you see the world is not all terrible out there.
...
But that’s not what my TV says.
Thanks for the stories from the real world.
Some confuse easily it appears
If you want to find the bad people, just hang around the offices of the major media outlets!
I am shocked, yes shocked, that there is lying going on in the press!
One on one, most people are decent and friendly. Problems arise when people run in packs, gangs, mobs, whatever. My theory is that any group tends to share one brain and conscience so the bigger the group, the smaller the individual brain and conscience. It makes otherwise decent people do things which might otherwise repel them. It the danger of identity politics is that it encourages people to form and run in packs and always see everyone else in packs to be challenged and defeated. The Judeo-Christian and American ideals try to break up packs and encourage individuality and we are losing those ideals.
Thanks. i enjoyed that.
Any sex assignment issues are my fault, and my fault only. Lol.
btt
Springfield/Holyoke are cesspools of gangs.
The highway system north and east west meet here. So drugs traveling north from NYC to and from Boston come through town.
Little known factall overseas telephone lines to Europe used to go through a building about three miles from my house. This area has ALWAYS been a traffic flow choke point.
Interesting.
For what it’s worth: Had a new refrigerator delivered the other day. The two men who delivered it were Hispanic, one about 40 or so and the other probably mid-20s. They spotted my son’s Airsoft gun (looks like a S&W M&P 15) on the dining room table. The older guy joked “Is that if I do a lousy job?” He asked to pick it up and he did, surprised at it’s heft (feels almost like the real thing). The younger guy brought up the fact about arming oneself and he started talking about the BLM crap. Both were appalled at what was going on and were very much disgusted with the “defund the police” nonsense. The young guy said, “If we don’t stop this, we will end up with police like in Mexico - shitty and corrupt!” As they headed back to their truck, the young guy said at the end of his workday he was heading over to get more ammo.
Both seemed like good guys. Just normal people, working for a living and not at all happy with the direction the country is currently headed.
And fully prepared to defend themselves if it comes to that.
I had an officer follow me up the driveway when I was about 18. I was driving erratically trying to get my car to make a certain banging noise so I could try to diagnose it. (Turned out to be a CV Joint)
He didnt ticket me but my dad held it against me for a long time.
I’ll take “Things Best Done in a Parking Lot” for $1000, Alex...
