Happy Father's Day!
6/21/20

Posted on 06/21/2020 1:48:22 PM PDT by Dacula

Here's to all the Dads . . .

- who paid for a dinner the no one was grateful for. - who didn't know if they'd make it to pay day. - who are trying their best to be a good man, in a society that devalues men. - who lost their patience multiple times a day because they see their life passing with their dreams still in their chest. - who never hear, "I am proud of you." because those are important words to a man. - who work long hours, and lease all the days frustrations at the door to be there for his kids, cause that's what dads do. - who love so much even when they feel they're failing. - who shoulder the weight of the world for their family.

You are doing a great job. I am PROUD of you!

I made peace with my Dad over the last few months after years of not communicating.

It has been great, just to let it go and not look back. He has called me three times today to talk, mostly about computer problems, but we still chit-chat in between problem-solving.

Happy Father's Day to every Father!

“who paid for a dinner the no one was grateful for.”

And ate the food they didn’t finish.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. I made a special brunch for my husband and kids earlier and later he wants to BBQ. I made a big plate of bacon, just for him!

Time heals. A few times a few years ago I really thought Hubs and DS1 were going to kill each other.

This year, DS1 had rented a skidloader to do some excavating, stopped by the farm, did some stuff, then stopped by the house and said, “Happy Father’s Day, Dad! I cleaned out the cow barn for you!”

Prayers answered.

Growing up, I assumed all kids had a great Dad like mine. He encouraged me every step of the way, never stopped believing in me, no matter what. I now know just how lucky I was.

Not all Dads are perfect, but one thing we have in common, we love our children.

As I mentioned earlier, I made peace with my Dad and thankful that I did.

Rest on the Flight Into Egypt

I cannot express to you how moving the original was to me...Then seeing that Mercer's St. Joseph was not sleeping made my heart leap with joy because it reinforced my own view, that St Joseph was not some silent old man but a bedrock of strength.

All of us should be like St Joseph. Happy FathersDay.

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers...and to those like me with angel children! He’s my only child, and although he’s not here holding my hand, I’ll always be Jon’s father!

Thank you for sharing.

Take comfort. Our lives are a grain of sand in an hourglass of time on earth.

God’s plan is eternity.
