Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday he is “considering” imposing a quarantine on travelers coming to New York from Florida, where coronavirus cases are spiking.
“I have experts who have advised me to do that. I’m considering it now,” Cuomo said during his second-to-last daily coronavirus press briefing in Manhattan when asked by a reporter about whether he will issue a two-week quarantine on people coming to the Empire State from the Sunshine State.
Florida has recently seen a major uptick in coronavirus cases, with more than 2,600 new cases recorded on Wednesday and a record 2,763 cases the day before.
“It’s a real concern,” Cuomo said, adding that implementing a quarantine on folks traveling from Florida to New York is “something I’m considering.”

Back when the whole Corona thing started up...someone noted a mass exodus of New Yorkers...either flying out, taking a railway situation, or driving. Among the top three destinations? Florida.
So we are at the end of the Covid-19 ‘big time’, and those New Yorkers sitting in Florida are the point of returning. How do you think they will react...seeing this threat of a quarantine by the Governor? He’d actually stuff you into another quarantine facility or old-folks home, and guaranteeing that if you didn’t die as you exited NY four months ago...you will die now.
None of this will sit well with people.

In Section 8 we see NY has more than 4X as many active cases as FL. Cuomo is speaking demagoguery based on BS.
One of my biggest complaints about the whole Covid mess has been how poorly understood nationally it is that NY is such a hotspot. A 75 mile radius from Lower Manhattan encompasses ~1/3rd the cases/deaths on the country. This has NOT been well-presented and -explained by our national media, much of which is NYC based. Whether intentional or due to incompetence, it IS lying by omission about an important aspect of the pandemic.

You know, this would be the perfect scenario for a 2-hour Seinfeld...trying to sneak back into NY City after Covid-19 stay in Florida.
But what if they are coming to riot? Will that get them a waiver?
