[IMO, everyone needs their job/business and will do damn near anything to keep it. That, in part, is what driving this madness.]
I too am hoping there is a firm rebuke in November. History shows it is likely, but we live in strange times.
The Crown Heights riots and regime of Mayor Dink in NYC caused the election of Rudy G who turned the city around. The voters, even in NYC, decided they needed an adult in charge for a bit to save their city.
The real question that will be answered in November is “how much more leftists is our nation today” than it was only a decade or two ago? It is a hard question because the media and cultural forces definitely skew further left than ever before so it is hard to get a fair assessment.
I suppose we will find out. I would like to think that Americans will not vote to get rid of police, surrender to China, open our borders, support fascism, and strangle our economy, but what do I know?
