I have said for many years, you give them as many H-1B visas as they want. They cost one million dollars apiece. Exception made for agricultural workers call them H-1Ba’s.

IT isn’t just in IT; they are filling the financial sector as well. When “Occupy Wall Street” was demonstrating outside the buildings from which they’d been laid off in 2007/2008, you could see the Asians (Orientals and Indian subcontinent) filing into the building behind them right on the TV. They were going to sit at the desks of the laid-off Americans.
Insurance and medical as well. Business as well. No longer do we have the eye-pleasing and well-mannered Pinay nurses. Now foul-mannered Bumbay nurses, medical assistants and others (H4EADs, which as 98% Indian. Thanks to Obama and Trump.
Truckers are complaining they are taking OTR positions as well. Only thing they can’t do is hazmat.
Indians are decimating the US middle class through dominating white collar work, just as Mexicans did in the trades decades before and Communist Chinese did with manufacturing.
What’s left? Low-paying service orientated jobs, which were the first to go with the Wuhanic plague. Warehouse and gig delivery workers is all that’s left for Americans, who’ll all front and back office positions get filled with foreigners.
I’m surprised about the trucking (because of the caste thing); hard to picture. For example, the merchant caste that runs gas stations often convert the bays into convenience stores because the mechanic work is unthinkable to them. If they don’t do that, in my area they rent out the bays to unaffiliated tenants who run their own mechanic businesses from it.
That’s right; seems the only safety is in trades, and even they are in danger (as large companies now install much of what they sell). A mechanic described to me how he was nearing retirement at just the right time; vehicles were becoming so complex only dealerships would be able to work on them.

My own experience - and thus was 15 years ago - came in a group of contractors more-or-less separated as Indian and American.
The Americans did most of the real work. For every 10 or so Indians, there was one capable programmer who covered for the rest. The others didn’t have a clue.
Right now it’s just 5-6 of them. My SILs were over tonight and talking about some deal with Target and one of the games, so they’re definitely going places with their company. I’ll tell them about your interest and see if they want to talk with you.
