Thanks for posting this. I went to the Twitter link and read through the thread. Then I read it with the threader app, which puts all the tweets into a coherent essay form, complete with the photos, etc. And it makes a brilliant historical analysis.
The parallels with our situation are very unnerving. Substitute the three-month global shutdown for the Franco Prussian War as the destabilizing event that permitted chaos and violence to take over, and we can see how we got to this point.
