I’m not familiar with Rizzo, but he sounds a lot like Richard Daley, Mayor of Chicago in the 1970s. Old School Democrat machine politician, strong with unions and Catholics, not going to put up with any opposition.
I remember his era etc and he was L&O but I also ‘remember’ Fabous and Bull Connor but never had to ‘interact’ in or around them either.
Rizzo ‘dodged’ the bullet when the ‘Move’ organization got MOVED in which many (including myself) figured it had Rizzo written all over it but luckily (for him and probably the country) Philadelphia had a Black Mayor when the building housing several ‘Black Activists’ was attacked and ‘bombed’ which set fire to SEVERAL occupied dwellings (row house neighborhood)
