I had a boss (company owner) who was a 33rd degree Mason, Shriner, all that crap (sorry to anyone offended). I was told by others that they found it a useful way to keep him occupied outside of the business where he tended to muck things up). We travelled together quite often and conversations about Masonry were frequent. He’d always tease me with some tidbit like about how he’d recited some Masonic mumbo-jumbo to get hotel room once when our reservations were screwed-up, because he saw the hotel clerk was also a Mason and they did the secret handshake. Then he’d tell me it was all secret and under penalty of death he couldn’t tell me anything. But after a few drinks things would come out, and Jahbuhlun was one of them., and the arch and how some said it was blasphemous but in fact it was just a word they used in their rituals and no big deal. I think it’s a composite of Yahweh, Baal, and On (Osiris). How much of Masonry is just play acting and how much is some kind of deep sinister stuff I have no clue.
So mote it be.
About 30 years ago, I went to lunch with some people at the Masonic temple in Indianapolis. The dining room had murals on all the walls; every square inch of wall was part of the gigantic murals. The murals were all of Egyptian gods and goddesses. It was very creepy. The people I was with claimed to be Christian, and I couldnt understand how they rationalized their beliefs, since they were so contradictory. I kept thinking of the Scripture verse Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
