National Guard to Begin Leaving California Cities

LOS ANGELES (AP) — National Guard troops will be pulled out of California cities where they have been deployed for a week after rampant violence and thievery marred the first days of protests over the death of George Floyd, officials announced Sunday.

The announcement came as peaceful demonstrations again popped up across the state, including a massive march through Hollywood, one on horseback in Compton and two that catered to children in the San Francisco Bay Area, as protesters continue to call for police reforms.

“After nearly a week assisting civil authorities on the streets of California, soldiers with the California National Guard will begin transitioning back to their home armories,” the Cal Guard said in a statement. A timeline for the pullout was not provided.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said some troops would begin departing Sunday evening.

“A small number of units will be stationed nearby until June 10 to provide emergency support if needed,” Garcetti said in a statement.

Gov. Gavin Newsom said Friday that he’d encourage local leaders to end their use of the Guard “in an expeditious manner, but a very thoughtful manner.”

More than 7,000 National Guard troops were deployed to LA, San Francisco, Sacramento and other cities to assist local law enforcement, Cal Guard said. While the vast majority of protests have been peaceful, there were violent clashes with police and hundreds of businesses were vandalized.

It was nice to have National Guard assisting police in Los Angeles County...

But, at some point, National Guard has to leave...

I have not heard of really violent incidents in the last few days...

I don’t really expect any riots in LA County in the next few days...For some reason, thugs have been staying away from protests...

I would not be too upset if National Guard leaves now...

I noticed that Friday violence and looting was prevalent on many areas, however by Saturday it almost vanished.

Let Kalifornia burn...let all the “Big Blues” burn...until it happens big-time, they won’t wake up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our fearless leader, Jim Robinson, lives in Kalifornia, as do many, many FReepers, but hey, we “deserve” to be burned out of our homes just like you do. After all, we all put Clinton and Obama into office to damage our whole nation, right? Why limit justice to the state level?
Of course we voted against Clinton/Obama, but the Deep State had a grip on the election process and got those vile sellouts into office and they filled our government with other traitors. So, by your reasoning, we all deserved to be burned out of our nation because we sold our entire country to the highest bidder.
It happened the same way in California. Election fraud put idiots in control and they helped install many more idiots. There are some good patriots, like congressman Devin Nunes, who are fighting to drain the swamp, but you think he should be burned out of his home too ‘cause he “deserves” it.
Did you know Obama sold China a port in Southern California and one Florida? Strategic, right? When Obama was in office, China owned a port around Long Beach that was off limits to US inspection. It’s not a coincidence that Pelosi and Adman Schiff luvs them some China, Dianne Feinstein’s driver (handler) just happened to turn out to be a Chinese spy, and rumors that the CIA has a hub in Silicon Valley persist.
The deep state wanted to keep CA’s ports and border with Mexico open to our enemies to bring drugs, weapons, foreign fighters and human trafficking, so they bought the state (Government, other assets).
I guess we Kalifornians should also be burned out of our homes for living in a state so valuable that traitors competed with each other to sell it to our enemies for big money and power. I suppose this could mean you’re lucky you live in a state nobody wanted.....but still, there were those Obama/Clinton years you haven’t been punished for yet.
If patriots victimized by rich, powerful traitors really deserve to be burned out of their homes, let’s all wander homeless through a nation of ashes to atone for the Clinton/Obama years. Only the elites should live in homes bought with taxpayer money. We should at get what’s coming to us.
I’ll never get tired of FReepers stating “let Kalifornia burn!” Never!
I would hate for Jim to suffer - I don't think his area has the anarchists running around...the only protester stories I've seen involving Fresno haven't been violent ones - my thoughts were more centered around the large dem cities...
If Jim needs a place of refuge, I'd gladly put him up in the Biloxi area for a while...
I just finished a left-wing oriented novel called "The 3rd Woman" by Jonathan Freedland - will never read another of his POS books...story line has it that China called in the debt and as a "conciliatory" pact, we allowed them to put up a stronghold - with troops, along the Kalifornia coast - San Diego, San Francisco, etc...the "hero" female reporter 'saves the day because it's really a republican candidate for Governor committing murders and framing a Chinese soldier, so we don't have to get mean and toss China out...I bet Feinstein would have an original edition in her library...
And, to quote a patriotic song writer/singer..."And I'll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land, God Bless the USA."
If the "power" of Kalifornia can be reformed so it can be known as "California" again, it would be a huge coup...
WOW! Sadly I doubt 3rd Woman is too far from the truth.
