here are few players in the NFL more qualified to discuss the national anthem and the flag than Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva. He served multiple tours of duty in the Army and is highly decorated.
When Villanueva went on 97.3 The Fan on Friday he was asked about the comments of New Orleans Saints quarterback about the national anthem and the heat Brees took, finally forcing him into an apology. Villanueva is a smart guy and rather than get baited into an answer, he put it squarely back on the media. It was taken out of context the last time I talked about this issue. I will never speak on it again said Villanueva. Im gonna blame it on the media. The media is always trying to hyper focus things. Pit people against each other. The media is unbelievably divisive right now.

The author makes a great point at the end:
We cant have true growth and progress from all this if only one side is allowed to speak their truth without fear of backlash.
/sarcasm on/The author needs to be crucified too because he is tolerating the intolerable/sarcasm off/.
Just reason #378 for me not to watch NFL action. It just keeps building up...never decreasing.

Most excellent comment!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear him speak up/out.
Stand by for incoming, Villanueva.
I had never heard of Villanueva before he made his stand for the flag but I ordered his jersey the same day to reward him for his stand. Before I even got the thing, he had already apologized. I was going to return it but, instead, I threw it away before I even opened it.
Villanueva is a decent , patriotic man who currently maximizes his earning by working in the NFL. Its akin to skilled professional who takes a high paying contract to live and work for a while in some backward, dismal country.
I bet he can take it.
I am having a tough time with it. Day by day, this thing makes me angrier and angrier.
I got an email from my company (a pretty large employer) and they were going to have a “Kneel In” today to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter racists.
I am nearly beside myself. I cannot speak out on this. For the first time in my decades long career, I am ashamed of this organization. Truly ashamed.
It is eating me inside.
F*** the NFL. Goodell and Nike pioneered the concept of using racial conflict and leftist victimhood as a brand-building and corporate marketing exercise. Now most of corporate America has learned this lesson in cynicism and greed.
how low will these filthy people go to get money?
“here are few players in the NFL more qualified to discuss the national anthem and the flag than Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva. He served multiple tours of duty in the Army and is highly decorated.”
And cowered and grovelled upon demand.
I recall many here excusing it, because the war veteran had been “forced to”.
I’ve been equating the two cowards in my posts for days, glad to see someone else thought of it, too, albeit falsely.

Think I’d have to retire.
If they force you to do that, you can always recite the Lords Prayer
Do not kneel to disrespect the flag
Do not do it.
It is anti American. Not sure if it is seditious
I
I would go find work somewhere else. However I would ask them first if the kneel in is a time for public prayer. If they said yes, I would be surprised.
Yeah. 33 years in there and a year or two away from retirement. If I go to another employer it is going to be the same, no doubt. Probably not going to happen.
I am glad that some people have that as a viable option, but it wouldn’t work for me.
Heck, they can’t MAKE me kneel. And they say it is voluntary.
I kneel only to God, and if I ever have to, to my wife if I ever need her to forgive me.
But not this, never. I am just disgusted. I don’t bring my politics into work with me, and I feel betrayed and angered that they would do so.
Villanueva was forced to take a knee the last time he spoke up. He’ll take one again.

And to think I was annoyed with my company's stupid CV19 response. If my company pulled that on me, I would be actively looking for an new job.
My condolences to you, and I hope you find a way through it.
Just squat down and go about doing your business. Time it for when outside the executive office.
