Yesterday was Memorial Day. And about 9:00 AM yesterday I went out to my front yard and unfurled my American flag. Then I looked up and down my street. There was only one other house that had a flag out.
I live in a blue-collar, working-class Democrat area. No hippies. More people here voted for Trump than they will admit. Everybody keeps their yards nice and neat. Middle America. But out of 20 houses, only two had flags out in Memorial Day. Why?
Your neighbors aren’t as pro America as you think. They are democrat scum.
Maybe they don’t own a flag or they’re lazy. Some people think of Memorial Day as a day off from work and a day for a barbecue. And when they think about those 2 things they say to themselves, “oh yeah, it’s Memorial Day.” I know several of these people.

Its really weird. A guy who lives a couple of houses up from me was a friend of my late father. Like my father, this guy was a WW II veteran, a volunteer. And hes still alive, and in relatively good health.
Hell honk and wave if he drives by and sees me working in my front yard. Yet he wont put a flag out on Memorial Day.
Could be multiple reasons.
I had a cloth flag and kept forgetting to put it out for holidays. Finally bought a nylon all-weather flag and now just leave it up all the time.
Some may not have a flag, some may not be home, and your odd leftist won’t fly a “racist and imperialist flag”...
It’s not that they are cynical, they just don’t care or not tend to show they care in a “non-internet” way. WE good, honorable people have trended towards just shutting up and not sharing those ideals that WE hold dear. Did anyone stop and explain to a younger person what Memorial Day is all about? We have to do a better job...
The Neighbors two houses down from me and both neighbors across the street from me and three more Neighbors down our street have American flags and the Gadsden flag and 1 a p o w flag and every one of them has a trump flag out all the time.
To our retirees two are blue collar worker 2 are teleworkers from home and one is a federal employee I am blessed to be in this neighborhood..2of them have actual flag poles.
We have one retired liberal school teacher in her early 50s who stays at home most of the time and has no Flags out of any kind nor did she bother even putting a small flag out for Memorial Day disgusting
Great post thank you for reminding me to do that
440 units in apt building, one flag out, my 48 stars
I lost my home in a nasty divorce and for the next dozen years I rented. When I was finally able to purchase another home one of the first things I did was install a flag pole.
I’m one of the few in the neighborhood that actually fly the flag but I accept it as another sign of the times. I don’t do (or not do) based on what others do.
Maybe they feel the country is letting them down and don’t feel very patriotic this year. (Without understanding that it’s the democrat party doing the damage and they foolishly keep voting democrat)
Also, the majority of Americans don’t know the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day.
The Hate America culture tells them the flag is racist and xenophobic and they dont want to insult anyone.

Thats one of my pet peeves. Rampant in the press, but also some people who should know better get confused.
There are many wealthy foreign people in my neighborhood from Asian and Eastern European countries.
THEY had flags flying. Street was full of flags yesterday, waved to my neighbors as they were putting them up.
I fly my American flag EVERY DAY...and lighted at night.
Also, I prefer “Thank you for wearing the uniform” to “Thank you for you service”.
Not as many houses here, but the same result. Me and the ex-Marine across the street.
Retired USN area, base is 15 miles away, lots of flags out, most were half mast. I bought a 20 ft pole for ours. Navy flags go on the house. Memphis another story, blue owned and run.
