They knew it was possibly going to be a stink, but there was a chance it could remove Trump from office. They knew Flynn would uncover the plot.
They acted to remove both Trump and Flynn. It almost worked in the case of Flynn and it certainly sidelined him. The scam undoubtedly damaged Trump and his Presidency. While the plot did not fully succeed, in hindsight there is little doubt in my mind that they would not do it again given that it helped them flip the house and it hurt Trump badly.
Now that it has failed and it is obvious to anyone who does not watch CNN or MSDNC or read the NYTimes or Compost, it is becoming obvious that the boy hero, Comey, was chosen to be the “fall guy” in the event that the plot unraveled.
Comey was such a fool. They played him like a fiddle and he was too arrogant to realize it. Brennan and Clapper will just shrug. They are already dumping it on the 7th floor of the FBI.
It is ironic in a way given how angry the Clinton crew were with Comey (justifiably so if we are to be fair) after his bizarre press conference. We were mad he threw an obviously overwhelming case. They were mad that he publicly crucified her when the threw the case.
Comey will have very few friends when this is over. Trust me.
surprised this thread is rather dead

#BREAKING:
@AmbassadorRice
s team confirms to #FoxNews that she was directed by White House Counsel to write the Jan 20, 2017 memorandum documenting an Oval Office meeting in which President Obama & National Security officials discussed #MichaelFlynn.
This is a man that needed a huuuuuugggggggeeeeee dose of humility. I can't stand to look at him.
He needs to spend time in lockup just for his arrogance.
Feeling low lately ("Obama and Biden will probably not be mentioned"....--Barr) but your post gives me a good feeling.
I think you are onto something. Which will require popcorn.
