Rehoboth and Bethany Beaches in DE have removed all benches from their boards but both plan to reopen the boards for exercise this coming Friday.

No all who wear masks do so to virtue signal. I wear a mask in public because I have about 5 of the mortality conditions indicated for COVID-19.

There are far too many people invested in keeping this alive. If a governor came out and said people should stand on one leg and cluck like a chicken, they would do it.
“Before entering any retail store, school building, or government office, please stand on one leg to show you have balance, something someone with the virus may not be able to do. Then, cluck like a chicken to show that you don’t have a sore throat.”
I swear we’d have parking lots full of clucking soccer moms and homosexuals that love being part of the crowd, total acceptance. It would be the line dancing and pride parade of the virus age.
My grocery store now has signs - apparently ‘someone’ placed multiple green arrows in both directions on the floor. I can only imagine the the angst that caused .

Lately I’ve seem a lot of public construction workers doing their outdoor jobs without masks or social distancing.
If construction workers can do that outdoors, why can’t people use a beach or a boardwalk?

It was probably unfair of me to say such a thing. But do you wear the mask while walking alone outside and driving your car alone? If so why? You do realize that in this situation the masks are not meant to keep you safe from catching the virus? They are meant to keep you from spreading the virus by diffusing the cloud of germs coming out of your mouth you when you cough or sneeze.
If you want to protect yourself from breathing viral particles which are approximately 10 times smaller than the particles in cigarette smoke or absorbing them through your eyeballs... you need either a self contained breathing apparatus with a full face piece or at the least a respirator mask with a full face-piece and an appropriate filter. But since neither of those options filter the air being expelled from your lungs they do not meet CDC guidelines for this and do not help prevent you from spreading “covid-19”.
The masks are meant to reduce the cloud of viral particles emitted from you when you cough or sneeze they are not designed to keep you from catching anything. When you are driving your car alone, or walking around alone outside the only thing they accomplish is increasing the amount of CO2 you are breathing and reducing the amount of oxygen that is getting to your brain and other vital organs. With the “mortality conditions” that you have you probably need all the oxygen that you can get.
My guess is the laws vary by state. Construction crews may have applied for exceptions based on other safety concerns. No one can tell me that in the warmer weather, perspiring while outdoors and having that sweat get into a mask and perhaps one’s mouth is healthy.
I have issues with seeing distances and I know the mask prevents me from seeing properly when I am in a place of business. Glasses can fog, too, while wearing masks.
