It could be a difference in dosage.
The existing dose may be 50mg twice a day, while the new one calls for 250mg three times daily.

No, the dose for RA, for instance has been 200 mg twice a day or 400 mg once per day. My frail cousin has been on 400 mg once per day for eighteen years.
