If confronted, simply state that you have a medical condition preventing use of a mask. Medical privacy laws state that you aren’t required to share that info with anybody.

Wearing a mask is a courtesy to other shoppers and to store employees. Where’s the law that stops you from making loud farts in a grocery store? Both ‘laws’ are in the same place.

That said stores ALSO have rights and freedoms and they have the right to refuse service to anyone as long as it’s not based on sex, race or religion.

I, of my own free will, elect to wear a mask when venturing into public areas. I do it because a mask helps prevent me from infecting anyone, if I am so infected and symptom-free. I wear it knowing that it does little to keep me from being infected by others, assuming I’m not already infected.

I do it because it’s the right thing to do, given the current situation.

I don’t have to be told to do it by “authority”, or coerced. A suggestion is good enough for me.

Is no shirt, no shoes, no service a law? I went to the bank today, they made me wear a mask. Went to Walmart across the street, they had a mandatory mask sign up but were not enforcing it so I didn’t wear one.

Yes, they have the right to refuse service.
But ... I have the right to spend my money somewhere else.

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service.

Or maybe it's different in Mississippi

Good, that’s your interpretation of freedom. Mine is not to wear a mask.

“But it does NOT SAY that Governor Reeves actually made an Executive Order REQUIRING customers to wear masks.”

OK, them what’s your problem? Don’t wear the mask. From what I gather, Mississippi health department is strongly recommending you wear a mask, but not mandating, so why are you asking that question in the first place?

If a particular store is telling you you have to wear a mask to shop there, you can either do that or shop someplace else or sue them.

I want to know if I missed something, and where the Order is listed.
I have really searched for said order, but I haven't been able to find it.
And I want to be correct when I tell these grocery store managers that there is no such order or law.

I have a suggestion that requires about 51 minutes of your time.
So much of what we're being told about covid-19 is just not correct.

Watch this on your computer:
Here's a link to one month for FREE and then $9.99 per month after that first month.
If you don't like it, then cancel the subscription before the end of the first month.

It really is worth your time.
I found it on YouTube for FREE. It starts at 01:30 into the video.

As you get old and wise you will learn that "being correct" is of minimal value in dealing with fellow humans.

"When in Rome do as the Romans do" generally has better results, even if the Romans are bats&^t crazy.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize state laws were above the Constitution.”

That’s OK, no need to apologize...

When you were in the airforce defending the constitution, you were defending also the portions that allow for state of emergencies to be declared at both the national and state level. There probably needs to be more restrictions to those provisions, but that’s the way things are right now.

Check out this Wikipedia article on the subject. Go to the section on the US, there it also mentions states declaration of emergency.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_emergency

By the way I hear your concern about this apparent unlimited power that a president and governors can declare for themselves. Congress has some power to restrict it but at the end of the day it falls on us, we the people, if we have the will.

I don’t care what a couple black-robed tyrants believe the Constitution says. It was written in simple terms by men that weren’t perfumed princes. Only lawyers can screw something up so bad that they could decide some words mean the exact opposite.
Of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 25 were lawyers — merchant and plantation owner were other popular occupations of our founding fathers

In general, with respect to the quality of Lawyers/Attornies today, you are correct. However, this has not always been the case!
