Roy Uwe Ludwig Horn, whose collaboration with Siegfried Fischbacher created the world-renowned duo Siegfried and Roy, died of COVID-19 complications on Friday at a Las Vegas Hospital, their publicist reports.
He was 75.
"Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend," said Siegfried in a statement. "From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried."
"Roy was a fighter his whole life including during these final days. I give my heartfelt appreciation to the team of doctors, nurses and staff at Mountain View Hospital who worked heroically against this insidious virus that ultimately took Roy's life," he continued.
Their legendary run in Las Vegas began in 1967 and continued for four decades. The German magicians took up residency at The Mirage in 1989, with a $30 million production that included their famous white tigers.
Horn was attacked by one of those tigers, Mantecore, in October 2003, but survived and remained in public life.
This assigning the Chinese virus as the cause of ALL death is getting almost hilarious.

There is a big difference between dying of the virus and dying with the virus
At75 years old he actually died of old age with complications from an infection. At that age anything can kill you.

Do people really die of the virus or do they die from the complications and dysfunctions and the weakening the virus brings? And would he have died now if he didn’t have the virus?

Many die from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) that is caused by the virus as the virus damages lung cells, and sets the stage for ARDS to develop- also the virus can makes the immune system go wonky- go into overdrive, and start attacking the body, causing inflammation in various organs, and the organs can malfunction or cease functioning- and cause death
Young healthy people usually can fight off this attack better than older people or those with underlying health conditions- people with underlying conditions likely would have lived many more years- just in crappy health, but the virus pushes them over the edge- since they are closer to the edge than healthy people are-
