I've got two large freezers full of my own homegrown beef. At least a two year supply. Not for me to worry.

But this is what the government response to this virus has done to the largest supplier of goods and services to its citizens in the world.

They taken us down to 3rd world status. Supply chains broken. Processing and manufacturing plants shutting down. Inventories running low. Shelves in the retail outlets empty.

All for what? To stop a virus that was going to kill a bunch of people anyway, not matter what we did?

It will take us years to recover from this self-inflicted wound.

Because having millions of people die (which would happen if we do nothing to stop the virus) does not affect the economy at all?

I am just astounded at the number of people who believe that an increase in the death rate does not affect the economy. Just wow.
