Machine learning could check if you’re social distancing properly at work

Andrew Ng’s startup Landing AI has created a new workplace monitoring tool that issues an alert when anyone is less than the desired distance from a colleague.

Six feet apart: On Thursday, the startup released a blog post with a new demo video showing off a new social distancing detector. On the left is a feed of people walking around on the street. On the right, a bird’s-eye diagram represents each one as a dot and turns them bright red when they move too close to someone else. The company says the tool is meant to be used in work settings like factory floors and was developed in response to the request of its customers (which include Foxconn). It also says the tool can easily be integrated into existing security camera systems, but that it is still exploring how to notify people when they break social distancing. One possible method is an alarm that sounds when workers pass too close to one another. A report could also be generated overnight to help managers rearrange the workspace, the company says.

This was posted before, so I’ll just repost: shock collars.

Know the scary part? There are some people out there just stupid enough to voluntarily wear one. Then make lame excuses for doing so. If that happens, I’m all for the collar jolting them hard enough to drop them. It’s time to cull the herd a little.

“properly” = “obediently” or “slavishly”. Any potential health benefit is hypothetical, or irrelevant.

Just how stupid is this? It is like having an annoying loser of a hall monitor bug you in seventh grade. Of course, after school you would beat him/her to a pulp.

This is about a lot more than the work place and social distancing. There ultimate goal is to track everyone’s every movement. When you are lying in bed they will have a blip indicating where you go. When you get up and make a trip to the bathroom then they will know. This virus is just an excuse to condition you for what they are planning.

And this is also why they want 5G because it goes a long ways in giving them these capabilities. 5G will have mini receivers and transmitters everywhere so that you will always be on the grid.

The time will come when you will be required to carry something like a cell phone on you at all times. We may even be talking about implanted microchip transmitters.

Once this would have sounded entirely kooky. But maybe it is not sounding so kooky anymore.

Socialist distancing

It's a commie plot.

Modern society can't function with people mandated to be six feet apart. We can't have profitable airlines, buses, trains. We can't have profitable sports events and stadiums. We can't have profitable retail centers. We can't have profitable and productive work environments.

Social distancing is a weapon designed to permanently impoverish our modern society and provide for an excuse to track citizens at every minute of the day and thus control their movements.

We need to start pushing back on this nonsense 110%. Just say no to socialist distancing. It's a scam.

The dumbest use of AI I have ever heard of.
And there are lots of dumb ideas out there.

Just because you can, it doesn’t mean you should. It seems that every solution these days involve a loss of liberty.

.

I see lawsuits for peddling systems which in actual use dont work.

False Positives constantly going off disrupting things.

Perhaps they could also come up with an App that shocks a leftist when they LIE and make all the politicains wear them 24/7. A T (tyranny) detector would also be a nice feature.

Everyone should reject stasi-like surveillance from their employer just as they would with government. The fact that this is being developed prior to any real data suggesting this is a problem should make people suspicious that it has anything at all to do with the virus. Encroachment begets encroachment.
