Amen to that.
Almost all the movies I watch these days are from the greatest generation. Audi Murphy, Jimmy Steward, The Duke, Clarke Gable etc.
Not much time for the narcissistic creeps that occupy Hollywood right now.
Two of my favorites with the Duke.
The Quiet Man, and Donovan’s Reef, especially with Lee Marvin in it.
McClintock was good also.
The western The Searchers also.
Any of them with Victor McLuaghlin, like the Quiet Man.
OK that’s four..
You ought to see what Victor McLaughlin said about Democrats. Maybe that is why he and the Duke played in so many movies together.
That is..Victor McLaglen..
You got it. Most of these are black and white, right? There is actual creativity, suspense, (normal) romance, all the good stuff. We also record and watch Dick Van Dyke, Lucy, Last Man Standing, Home Improvement, In most of the old movies and shows, people actually talked normally (not 100 mph), there were not 27 plots going on at once, and they were not so predictable. Great stuff...carry on!
