Signs - The Five Man Electrical Band 1971
Just an old song I was thinking about today as I continued to go out and do what I always do,almost;)
Commie anthem inspired by Woodie Guthrie....
As I went walking I saw a sign there,
And on the sign it said “No Trespassing.”
But on the other side it didn’t say nothing.
That side was made for you and me.
Hey hippie....no trespassing!
I always liked this one. It seemed perfectly in tune with 1971, all the way to the slightly sappy ending.
This was a Canadian band that had a a lot more hits up in the Great White North.
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?
Sounds familiar.
Funny, I didnt realize for many years that anyone other than Tesla had done this song.

The Five Man Electrical Band was the original.
And I was four when they put it out, so there you go. :)
Awww those were the days. All the freedom and none of the responsibilities.
So I put my skin up under my had and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a gungrabbing babykilling Obama-lovin' piece of shit, I think you'll do
So I took off my had, said, "Imagine that", me...working for you...
Cool song. It was played regularly on KEZY in Anaheim in the early 1970’s, along with Mike Curb:
That was a good song.
You’re Absolutely Right!
I like your lyrics better.
Love this song!
WLS used to play it all the time.
Oh, wow, talk about a flashback. As a kid growing up in the Appalachians, on a good night I could not only pull in a fair AM signal from WLS in Chicago, but also CKLW in Windsor, Ontario, too.
That struck me as a commie anthem from the get-go.
