Same here but a Volkswagen. Gas was 28 cents a gallon so you can imagine how far a person could go on a full tank.

Pulled into the gas station with my Mom once in my 62 Bug. I had no cash and she didn't either. I scrounged .17 in change from the floor and pumped it in. She was embarrassed. But that got us home.
