AI-powered software is getting very powerful. I am just now starting to use AI in my software I develop for work. We use AI for our online help desk.

Another department is looking at using AI in factories to identified products that are defected in shape going down the line.

Also using it for mixed reality solutions for selling products. You would like to see a product in your home. Just upload a photo, the product will be place in your photo.

Next step is to do that without uploading. You just through your Phone camera at a room and see the product in real time.

There are AI programs that can fake a person saying something they did not say or place a person in a video they were not in.

Very scary stuff.

Thanks, RummyChick.

...doesn’t this imply though, that to detect BS questions during the President’s daily Coronavirus press conferences, you’d need “Artificial Stupidity” ...?

I don’t know. After Trump banned travel to and from China, Nancy Pelosi went into SF Chinatown and told everyone how great the food was and to come and visit. But maybe overall the California politicians were more responsible than those in NY.

I haven’t heard whether more Wuhan natives might have moved to NY, but that could be an explanation as foreigners from a particular area often do move in significant numbers to the same part of the US.

departed March 15

How stupid did these folks have to be to board a cruise ship on Mar 15th? I sympathized with the DP passengers and those who cruised before it was obvious we had a problem, but these folks had to know this was not just possible, but likely. Now they will be quarantined who knows how long on the ship, only to return home and likely be quarantined again. 128 of 217 already infected, so there is little doubt everyone will be infected by the time those still on the ship get off.

I've seen that post before. All conditions listed are part of the same condition resulting from insulin resistance. The is referred to as metabolic syndrome.

Metabolic syndrome, also known as syndrome X or dysmetabolic syndrome, refers to a cluster of metabolic conditions that can lead to heart disease.

The main features of metabolic syndrome include insulin resistance, hypertension (high blood pressure), abnormal cholesterol, and an increased risk for clotting. People diagnosed with this syndrome are usually overweight or obese.

Metabolic Syndrome

Intercellular zinc deficiency is a common feature of Type 2 Diabetes (advanced metabolic syndrome).

Zinc and diabetes mellitus: understanding molecular mechanisms and clinical implications

Glycated hemoglobin and changes in normal ferritin blood levels is a common feature of Type 2 and Metabolic Syndrome:

A STUDY ON RELATION BETWEEN SERUM FERRITIN AND GLYCATED HEMOGLOBIN IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

Almost half of Americans of all ages are unhealthy. It is not because they don't follow dietary device, it is because they do follow it. It is not because they don't "move more." It is because they can't outrun a bad diet.

Metabolic Syndrome is easily reversed with reduction in processed food and seed oils, low carbohydrate intake and time restricted eating to allow the human body to recycle damaged organelles via Autophagy. Patients after weight loss will tend to move more. Trying to convince them that exercise will cure them or they are not doing it enough is sadistic.

Metabolic Syndrome increases with age, however BMI is not as good of a predictor as Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). Main elderly fall in the low to healthy BMI ranges, however suffer from insulin resistance. I've posted a few times now that they are Thin Outside, Fat Inside (TOFI).

The virus infections seem to show the same pattern. Attacking the old with great lethality first, while infecting the younger later with grave illnesses requiring hospital support.

Hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia are part of the same phenomena. HbA1c should be the first line test after viral infection to understand the patients disease course and medical treatment.

If almost half the population suffer this disorder, the disease can not be allowed to burn it's way across the population.
