On Friday, the U.S. media gleefully reported that the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the U.S. had surpassed the number of confirmed cases in China. In addition, the number of people who have died from the virus in both Italy and Spain has exceeded the total in China.
As of Thursday, according to the Chinese Government, there have been 81,340 cases and a total of 3,292 people people have died. On Friday, the government claimed only one new person had been infected through local transmission, but that there had been 54 new imported cases. Remarkably, the country reported that there had been zero new locally transmitted cases in the previous two days, though there had been imported cases.
Many people have been somewhat reluctant to believe those figures.
The staggering number of urns containing the ashes of loved ones which have been delivered to local funeral homes for distribution to family members appears to contradict those claims.
One photo published by Caixin shows a truck loaded with 2,500 urns arriving at the Hankou Mortuary. The driver said that he had delivered the same amount to the mortuary the day before.
Another photo shows stacks of urns inside the mortuary. There were seven stacks with 500 urns in each stack, adding up to 3,500 urns.
Taken together with the new shipment, the number of urns on hand at the mortuary looks to be more than double Wuhans death toll.
Urns are reportedly being distributed at a rate of 500 a day at the mortuary until the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, which falls on April 4 this year.
Wuhan has seven other mortuaries. If they are all sticking to the same schedule, this adds up to more than 40,000 urns being distributed in the city over the next 10 days.
I can’t tell you how many FReepers have quoted the official China numbers and said, “asssuming it is true.”
They are false.
How do you know a Chi-Com is lying? Their lips are moving.
I’m sure all of those urns contain the ashes of their loved ones. The bodies were carefully managed, carefully cremated one at a time, and the ashes respectfully handled and the urn inventory carefully handled. Right.
“Hey Wang, gimme a scoop from that ash pile for this urn.”
I think this would sort of support my contention that the death rate in the PRC is about 10 times the listed numbers.
True for any Commie.
“In addition, the number of people who have died from the virus in both Italy and Spain has exceeded the total in China. “
So China, where the thing started and with the largest population in the world has fewer deaths the Italy and Spain. country’s a fraction of their size and MSM just accepts it.
One kowtows to one’s masters...
From a recent Babylon Bee article about China’s claims of having beaten CoVid-19:
“American journalists quickly reacted to the news. ‘China is so much better than the stupid U.S.! I wish we were China!’ said an editorial in The New York Times. ‘If we werent banned from seeing inside, we would live in China.’ And at Trumps next press conference, the Times writer’s first question was, ‘Why cant you be China?’”
But there are other signs, like the closing of cinemas again, that might be indications of something amiss.
If China claims 81,000 cases with 3,200 dead, it was probably 810,000 cases and 32,000 dead.
I’d guess ten times more than that. A death toll well into the six figures (but probably not seven) is consistent with the evidence.
>> and the 21MM missing cell phone users? <<
Gov’t suppressed 21MM people’s telecom? Easier to believe than 21MM dead... from a disease with a death rate between 1 and 4%.
Yep - lots of FReepers seem hell-bent on joining the panic-mongers and sifting for the worst possible “data” in order to perpetuate the lie.
You are assuming that everyone in those urns died of the Chinese Wuhan Flu (”CWF”). In the USA, approximately 7,450 people die each day out of a population of ~327,000,000, which equals a death rate of ~.0023% of the population each day (2018 stats). Wuhan has a population of ~12,000,000 people. If the daily death rate in Wuhan is the same as the USA, then that equates to ~273 deaths per day. Multiply that by 75 days and total deaths for reasons other than CWF are at least 20,475. I say “at least” because I suspect that death rate in Wuhan, prior to CWF, is probably a lot higher than the death rate in the USA because of inferior medical care, unhealthy life style, air pollution, etc. Also, the mortuaries in Wuhan could cover areas outside the city as well, which would also increase the number of deaths that are not the result of CWF. I am not saying that the CCP has been honest, but there is a benign, rational explanation for the high number of urns.
China lying? Does a bear $%^T in the woods?
That’s probably not a bad rule of thumb to start with: add a zero to anything they say.
Anybody would have to be a complete idiot to believe the Chicoms about the death toll as well as about them having everything under control. They lied about everything else about this to try to cover their azzes. Why would they stop lying now?
Exactly.
