Actually, I didn't realize Herb Lom said it in The Pink Panther Strikes Again. It's one of the few things I remember from college, a popular self-help phrase in the Roaring Twenties that originated in France. There's the link with the film obviously.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89mile_Cou%C3%A9

Émile Coué was a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a popular method of psychotherapy and self-improvement based on optimistic autosuggestion.

And that just reminded me of an episode of Superman where underworld bosses used plastic surgery on a thug to have him impersonate Superman and rob banks and stores. I can still see the thug with his face bandaged, hiding incognito in a hotel room, trying to learn to talk like George Reeves, pacing around the hotel room with the montra, "I look like Superman, why don't I talk like superman?" Apparently the autosuggestion worked for the thug because the heavily bandaged thug soom started sounding like George Reeves, even when the bandages came off.

Just so you will not think I'm that old, every episode of Superman I've ever seen was in syndication after it originally aired.

Yeah, the only people from my generation that learned Latin were the Catholic school kids.

Curious your thoughts now.

As you can see from my timeline I’ve been away for a while. Found this post when I was trying to figure out what a flubro was.

We have been consistent...and a new thread everyday. The lockdown is wrong - it’s just overhyped junk.

50/50.

The lockdowns were obviously used for political purposes, more than for real public safety. The net result has been to destroy small businesses and individuals, most of whom will never recover.

And the lockdowns were clearly used as leverage to steal the vote.

That said, I have lost a number of friends to covid (confirmed, actual deaths in hospitals).

Look at the big picture– who benefited?

My opinion is that it was a biological event– quite possibly an attack, quite possibly coordinated by bad actors in the US– did what it was intended to do.
