Moving this over from the old thread.
TX
Just had a phone call from our congressman for a town hall on CV with him and a Dr. Schmit (?). It went rather well. The majority of the questions were intelligent but were a month or more behind. At least people are finally waking up and asking.
Some of the highlights were:
Schools are probably closed for the rest of the year.
Incubation is up to 15 days.
Granbury (?) has 20 test kits for 60k people. I dont know if the Dr. meant enough tests for 20 people or 20 full box loads of kits. The tone of his voice sounded more like 20 people.
The US was late catching on to how severe CV was and basically missed the window in stopping it. Behind time to eliminate it. If everyone (world) would isolate for 2 weeks, we could stop it, but that will never happen. (thats what Ive been saying)
Summer heat is not going to help.
Clueless on contaminated mail.
Sticking a blow drier up your nose isnt going to help.
Neti pot isnt going to help.
Dr. was clueless on the malaria meds saying itll be months to test any drug.
Also, right after the town hall:
Gov. Abbott issues executive order - 140+ cases. Multiplied by 300%
No more than 10 in a group.
Close bars and restaurants. Drive thru ok.
Dont enter nursing homes.
Schools temp closed midnight tomorrow to Apr. 3. Online studies.
This is not a shelter in place. No limit on travel. Encourage work at home. Practice good hygiene. People must reduce public contact.

That's why nearly all my mail goes from the box straight to the recycling bin, which sits outside my house.
Rest of calendar regarding schools, not just academic year, right?
People need to start saying calendar or academic year when talking about schools so people will clearly know what they mean.
How do you know summer heat won’t help?
